Background

I am a Registered Dietitian/Nutritionist with 20 years of practice experience.  I received my Bachelor of Science degree in dietetics from Florida State University and completed a Master of Science degree and professional practice internship in nutrition at Colorado State University.

Nutrition is a broad field.  I feel strongly that the foundation to your success in achieving health and nutrition goals is pairing with a dietitian who specializes in the practice area where you seek a partnership.  I work primarily with clients in weight management, metabolic and bariatric surgery and kidney disease.

My first passion in the field of nutrition is weight management.  I completed advanced training in weight management earning a Certificate of Training in Adult Weight Management from the Commission on Dietetic Registration.  I previously coordinated a medical and surgical weight management program at a large hospital in the Southeast where I conducted both individual and group counseling sessions.  I also facilitated support groups for clients in our bariatric surgery program.

I expanded my horizon in nutrition by stepping into kidney disease several years ago.  I have been a Board Certified Specialist in Renal Nutrition since 2019.  I have practice experience in dialysis; however, my passion is in empowering clients to identify kidney disease early and to take charge of their health through nutrition and self care to delay the progression of kidney disease.

Approach

"I work side by side with clients to set and achieve health goals through personalized nutrition plans. Adaptability is a core value of mine and I firmly believe that food is an important part of identity and culture and I strive to avoid a "one-size fits all" approach to health and meal planning. I am committed to empowering my clients to thrive. I am a mom of two teenagers and I recharge by spending time in nature. Leisurely hiking and paddle boarding are my passions."
