I have a Bachelors Degree in Chemistry and Dietetics and Applied Nutrition. I have a Master's Degree in Nutrition and am registered with the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. I am licensed in MD and DC.
I am in practice since 1996 - 30 years! I have worked in and have experience in diverse settings such as acute, sub-acute and rehab, SNF units, public health as a WIC nutritionist and nutritionist supervisor and coordinator, and outpatient clinics since the last 9 and a half years.
I speak four Indian/SE Asian languages besides English: Hindi, Gujarati, Marathi, and Urdu. I have a working knowledge of Spanish.
I believe that a conceptual understanding of basic nutrition needs for patient-specific needs goes a long way in helping patients independently manage nutrition-related issues. As Steven Covey says: It is best to teach a man how to fish rather than giving him a fish! This way the man can eat for life, rather than only one meal!

I have been in practice for 30 years and have worked in a variety of settings including acute care, inpatient care in hospitals and nursing homes, sub-acute, SNF units and outpatient care. I have also worked with the WIC Program. I speak five languages - English, Hindi, Gujarati, Marathi and Urdu, and am very familiar with cuisines from various regions in S. E. Asia. I have a patient-centered approach and believe that patients do not care how much you know, until they know how much you care!
