Background

About Me: Lori Montaigue, MA, RD

Hi, my name is Lori Montaigue, a registered dietitian nutritionist with a passion for integrative and functional nutrition. I believe that food is a powerful tool for healing and that small, sustainable lifestyle changes can lead to lasting wellness. My mission is to help clients take control of their health through personalized nutrition counseling that supports both physical and emotional well-being.

What to Expect from Working with Me:

During our sessions, you can expect a supportive, science-based approach tailored to your unique needs and goals. Whether you’re managing a chronic condition, looking to improve digestion, or simply seeking better energy and balance, I provide realistic, actionable strategies that fit into your daily life. Together, we will build a plan that helps you feel your best—without unrealistic expectations.

My Focus Areas:

I specialize in:

Medical Nutrition Therapy (MNT) for conditions like pre-diabetes, heart health, migraines, and weight management

Integrative & Functional Nutrition, addressing root causes rather than just symptoms

Weight Management & Lifestyle Coaching, focusing on sustainable habits

Preventative & Holistic Wellness, helping clients optimize health before issues arise

If you’re looking for a compassionate, evidence-based approach to nutrition that takes your whole health into account, we could be a great fit!

My Background & Experience:

I have over 25 years of experience in the field and previously served as the Lead Dietitian and Lifestyle Counselor at Scripps Clinic’s Integrative Medicine Center. During my time there, I worked closely with clients on a variety of nutrition-related concerns and lifestyle changes. I was honored to be featured in The New Medicine, a primetime PBS documentary on innovative healthcare.

Beyond clinical practice, I’ve contributed to best-selling books (SuperFoodsRx and SuperFoods HealthStyles) and served on Revolution Health's Medical Advisory Board, where I created expert content for their online health and wellness platforms.

Why I Became a Dietitian:

I became a dietitian because I truly believe in the transformative power of food. I was drawn to integrative nutrition because it connects science with real-life well-being, helping people heal and thrive naturally. After working in various healthcare settings, I saw firsthand how nutrition plays a crucial role in disease prevention and recovery—and I knew I wanted to help people harness that power in a personalized, sustainable way.

A Bit About Me:

When I’m not working with clients, you’ll find me spending time with my teenage daughter,  hiking in nature with my dogs, or practicing energy healing. I also love traveling and exploring different food cultures—because food is not just about nutrition, but also joy, connection, and tradition!
