I am a registered dietitian/nutritionist, certified diabetes care and education specialist, and certified insulin pump trainer. My nutrition practice focus is on diabetes and diabetes devices, and providing personalized coaching and education based on clients’ needs. Personalization can include: adapting pump practices preparing for and during physical activity and pregnancy, weight loss, steroid use, surgery, cancer treatments and hemodialysis. I can also assist clients considering and preparing for insulin pump therapy or transitioning to a new pump.
I also assist clients considering using a continuous glucose monitor (cgm) or those using cgm needing assistance interpreting the data reflect small changes that can make a very positive improvement.
While my practice is diabetes device focused, I also love working with clients or their caregivers with any type of diabetes and at any stage of their diabetes journey. I have lived with type 1 diabetes for over 40 years and working with people with diabetes is my life passion. I am so blessed at the end of the day when I feel I have helped to make someone’s life better.
I have also noticed an increase in clients struggling with reactive hypoglycemia. This can be an extremely confusing diagnosis, but some knowledge and coaching can immediately empower someone to improve their day-to-day quality of life.
I enjoy spending my free time moving, rather it’s doing Barre, dance or resistance classes at the gym or walking Rocky Mountain or gardening. I also love to travel and explore new cultures and cuisines with my husband.
