Claire Allen, RD

Claire Allen MS RDN LDN is a nutrition expert with a focus on gastrointestinal disease and disorders. She received her Masters of Science degree in Nutrition from the University of Illinois at Chicago and dual bachelor’s degrees in psychology and economics from the University of Michigan. Claire has been a registered dietitian for the past decade, with extensive experience as part of an integrative gastroenterology and weight management medical team. Her expertise includes dietary management of irritable bowel syndrome, small intestinal bacterial overgrowth, Crohn's disease, celiac disease, ulcerative colitis, eosinophilic esophagitis, congenital sucrase isomaltase deficiency, gastroparesis, GERD, and low histamine diets. Claire has significant experience working with patients on GLP-1 medications to support them nutritionally and manage common side effects.

Claire is actively involved in several academic groups through the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, including Dietitians in Gluten and Gastrointestinal Disorders, and Dietitians in Integrative and Functional Medicine. Claire enjoys working with patients to help improve their quality of life and manage their medical conditions through food. Her goal is to understand the patient’s unique story and work with them to modify their food choices to help expand their diet, not restrict it. As part of her coaching philosophy, she considers all lifestyle factors that may be impacting an individual’s health. Clients can expect to be heard, respected, and walk away with a unique plan that fits within their lifestyle and tools to succeed.
