Background

Cheryl Phillips, MS, RDN, LD

I am a dedicated and experienced Registered Dietitian Nutritionist with a passion for helping clients achieve their health goals through balanced and enjoyable eating. With a Master of Science in Nutrition from the University of Central Arkansas, my academic background is solid and comprehensive.

Credentials:

I have been a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist under the CDR since 2018. My professional experience spans outpatient and inpatient nutrition counseling, long-term care consultation, and leadership in nutrition services. I have experience with virtual visit platforms.

Expectations:

Clients working with me can expect a supportive and engaging environment where their unique needs and goals are prioritized. I emphasize balanced eating, incorporating a variety of fruits, vegetables, whole grains, nuts & seeds, and lean proteins while allowing for occasional treats. My approach focuses on gradual, sustainable changes, celebrating small victories, and fostering a positive relationship with food.

Focus Areas:

I specialize in weight management, type 2 diabetes, hypertension management, malnutrition, healthy eating, food intolerances, cardiovascular disease, prediabetes, and food allergies. I am very familiar with a variety of eating styles, such as, Mediterranean, vegan, and vegetarian. I am also experienced in meal and snack planning, as well as dealing with family dynamics that may impact dietary habits.

Get to Know Me:

I love food and people. My spouse and I enjoy cooking together, exploring different food cultures, new ingredients, and cooking methods. We appreciate making healthy food flavorful and fun, and I love sharing recipes with my patients. I am particularly interested in the gut microbiome and its impact on sleep, mood, immunity, and energy.

Personals:

Outside of work, I'm a proud cat-mom to three black cats and love exploring new recipes with my spouse. We're both passionate about making healthy food fun and flavorful. I enjoy exercise, reading, and listening to podcasts. I'm also a bit of a nerd, relishing tabletop RPGs like Dungeons and Dragons, playing video games, and diving into sci-fi. You might find me at Comicons or renaissance fairs, embracing my geeky side. I believe in enjoying life and maintaining a balance, just as I encourage my clients to do. I strive to be a good listener and create a non-judgmental space for my clients.

Drive:

I became a dietitian because I believe in the transformative power of balanced nutrition. My goal is to help clients build a solid foundation of healthy eating habits that can support their long-term health and well-being. I aim to be a motivating partner in their journey, helping them achieve their goals with a personalized, balanced approach.
