Aloha, I’m Alana and I was born and raised in Oahu, Hawaii. As a registered dietitian with a dual background in nutrition and psychology, I have always been intrigued by the interrelated nature of food and mental health. Growing up, I witnessed the effects of diabetes, thyroid disorder, and mental health disorders in family and friends, while also navigating my own disordered eating and gut health challenges. These experiences fueled my desire to take control of my own health, build confidence in my body, and support my loves ones in their healing.
After earning my master’s in nutrition, I worked in outpatient clinics as a general and eating disorder dietitian, treating diverse medical conditions. Initially prioritizing eating disorders and endocrine health, my focus evolved after discovering gut and women’s hormonal health were often misunderstood and overlooked in the standard healthcare system. I am passionate about the complex relationship between hormones, gut health, and mental well-being. My goal is to not only help you regain your energy, happiness, and confidence, but to provide a supportive space where you feel heard, validated, and empowered in your health journey!
Outside of being a dietitian, I love international travel, cuddling with my kitties, spending time outdoors, sewing, crocheting, trying new cooking recipes, and game nights.
