Background

I am a career changer who, with the support of many, decided to pivot into a career in science and nutrition. My personal experience and observing the experiences of others helped me realize how nutrition can impact outcomes and performance. I am a former athlete turned recreational weightlifter and occasional CrossFitter who enjoys strategizing with athletes how to fuel themselves for exercise. My athletic endeavors may have been sidelined by a recent diagnosis of Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome, but I have shifted my intensity with sport to an intensity in supporting others with this diagnosis. When I'm not focused on sports nutrition, I'm digging into research on the gut microbiome, digestive health and how it affects metabolism.  My credentials & experience include a Master of Science in Applied Nutrition from the University of New England, a Bachelor of Science in Nutrition and Dietetics from North Carolina Central University. I am a NASM Certified Personal Trainer with years of experiencing in health coaching, nutrition education motivational interviewing and application of SMART goals. I am a member of the Dietitians in Integrative and Functional Nutrition group within the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.
