Background

My name is William Watkins and I’m a registered dietitian with over a decade of experience. My career in nutrition began in the NICU working with the youngest and most fragile newborn babies. After several years as a dietitian in the inpatient setting, I expanded my practice to follow NICU graduates as outpatients. My practice eventually expanded to include childhood & adolescent weight management, food allergies and intolerances, diabetes, GI disorders, disordered eating, sports nutrition and plant-based nutrition. As a father I understand the importance quality nutrition can play in a child’s life.

I initially earned a Bachelors in Chemistry with minors in education and art history at LaSalle University and later returned  for my Nutrition degree. As my career has gone on I’ve went on my own nutrition journey. In 2018 my wife and I become pescatarians and a few months later we stopped eating meat, dairy, and eggs and have been plant-based ever since.

I went on to become board certified in Lifestyle Medicine in 2022, and since breaking out of the traditional healthcare model I broadened my practice to include adults.

Being a former D1 athlete, my main passions lie in sports nutrition and human performance. It excites me to work with individuals who are plant-curious or those who are striving to improve their nutrition if they are already on the vegetarian/vegan spectrum. My goal is to help each individual achieve their best while using the most up-to-date evidence based practices to do that.
