I’m a Registered Dietitian (RD), Licensed Dietitian/Nutritionist (LDN), and PhD with experience working in both clinical and community nutrition. I currently serve as an Associate Professor and Dietetics Director in higher education, where I have the opportunity to combine my passion for nutrition, education, and helping others develop healthier relationships with food and their overall well-being.
As a dietitian, I believe nutrition care should be personal, practical, and collaborative. I take the time to really get to know my clients—their motivations, interests, routines, challenges, and the reasons they want to make changes. I believe there is no single approach to nutrition that works for everyone, and I do not believe in a “one-size-fits-all” plan. Instead, I work with each person to identify realistic goals and strategies that fit their individual lifestyle.
My approach is centered on listening. I want my clients to feel heard and comfortable sharing their experiences without fear of judgment. I encourage clients to take an active role in our conversations and in developing their goals. My role is to provide evidence-based nutrition guidance, support, encouragement, and accountability while helping each client determine what changes feel realistic and meaningful to them.
I also recognize that everyone has a different communication style. Some people want detailed information and specific recommendations, while others prefer a more relaxed, conversational approach. I adapt my counseling style to meet each client where they are. My goal is for our sessions to feel like a partnership rather than a lecture.
What drives me as a dietitian is helping people feel more confident and less overwhelmed when it comes to nutrition. I want clients to leave our conversations with practical tools, a better understanding of their individual nutrition needs, and the confidence to make choices that support their health. Most importantly, I want them to know that nutrition does not have to be complicated or restrictive. It should be something that supports your health while still allowing you to enjoy your life.
My approach to dietetic practice is centered on building meaningful, trusting relationships with my clients. I believe effective nutrition care begins with getting to know the person behind the nutrition concerns. Rather than focusing solely on food choices, health conditions, or nutrition goals, I want to understand what motivates each client, what is important to them, and why they are considering making changes to their health and lifestyle.
