Background

Clients who work with me can expect to leave feeling encouraged, with the knowledge they need to address the issues being discussed. They will have pertinent, up to date information, but not too much to feel overwhelmed. I hold a Master's degree in Food, Nutrition and Dietetics from Eastern Illinois University, May 1998. I have been a dietitian for 23 years. It is a rewarding profession, being able to help people live healthier lives! When I am not working, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends. My husband and I have 6 children and 5 grandchildren. Life can be busy, but fun! During my time as a dietitian, I have worked in both inpatient and outpatient settings. The outpatient setting has been my preference, due to the ability to spend more time with clients. Now transitioning into private practice, gives me the ability to provide more personalized care and to monitor my clients progress. It is motivating to be making a positive difference in their lives!

Approach

"My main goal in working with clients is helping them overcome the issues they are struggling with. Addressing their needs and meeting them where they are. I have an individualistic approach, as everyone is different. When working with clients, I am patient, encouraging, open minded and a good listener. Establishing trust and building a safe environment is also very important. I strive to help clients set realistic goals, focusing on gradual changes for their success."
