Hi, I’m Stephanie and I am a Board Certified Registered Dietitian (RD) specializing in Weight Loss (CSOWM) and Diabetes (CDCES). In addition to these specialty areas, I also work with patients who have other health conditions and those who are just looking to prevent health problems in the future. Often times, your primary care doctor doesn’t explain the medical condition to their patients or listen to you in order to gain a true understanding about the things you are struggling with. “You need to lose weight” or “You need to cut out sugar” is sometimes all that is said during a visit with your doctor but the main question of “How?” never gets answered. Sometimes patients feel ashamed about their current state of health and are not comfortable asking for help. Compassion and empathy are the foundation to forming trust and making a real plan. Having a connection is essential for working together on the journey to long term lifestyle change. It is important to recognize that everyone moves at their own pace. Whether you require a push to keep you motivated and accountable or work better using a softer approach, I ensure that my clients are always in control of their own care while getting the support they need. After doing a deep dive into the areas you are most concerned about, we work as a team to strategize the best approach that fits you and gets you on the road to being your best self! 

My interest in nutrition began when a close friend of mine became ill with cancer. I was very young and watching her go through that battle and eventually losing her life affected me deeply. I wanted to understand the things that make us vulnerable to disease and what we can do to protect ourselves. The world of nutrition and diet is massively confusing. There is so much information out there it’s nearly impossible to know what’s really true anymore. I focus on simplifying things and breaking it down to how it relates to you as an individual. Cutting through the bad information that creates confusion helps you gain a better understanding of why some things work and others don't. It also empowers you to make real changes that work!
