I’m a Licensed and Registered Dietitian with a master’s degree in nutrition from the University of Maryland and more than 30 years of experience helping thousands of individuals of all ages and families build healthier and more sustainable relationships with food.\
\
Throughout my career, I’ve worked in clinical nutrition, research, education, and community wellness — including positions at Johns Hopkins Children’s Hospital, Walter Reed Army Medical Center, and the U.S. Naval Academy working with their students and athletes. I am a published nutrition scientist and worked at the U.S.D.A.’s Human Nutrition Research Center when important nutritional knowledge was being developed, such as the role of dietary fiber and the importance of trace minerals. I’m also a retired Lieutenant Colonel in the U.S. Army and creator of the award-winning Eat Right Live Well Program.\
\
But what I love most is working directly with people.\
\
My approach is practical, encouraging, and personalized. I believe healthy eating should feel realistic — not restrictive — and that nutritious food can also be delicious, affordable, and easy to prepare. Whether you’re looking to improve your overall health, navigate a medical concern, plan meals more confidently, or simply feel better day-to-day, I work with clients to create sustainable habits that fit real life.\
\
In addition to one-on-one counseling, I’ve taught hundreds of nutrition classes, cooking demonstrations, workshops, and grocery store tours focused on helping people make informed, everyday food choices with confidence.\
\
I’ve also written extensively on nutrition and wellness for military families and health organizations and have been featured on Baltimore’s Fox 45 Morning News promoting practical healthy eating strategies.\
\
Aside from my love of cooking for my family and friends, I enjoy skiing, biking, swimming, golfing, and spending time outdoors with my husband and three adult children.
What sets me apart is that I listen well. As we get to know each other during our initial session I will think like a detective and ask you to do the same as we explore your personal goals. Based on our conversations I will provide you with concrete, practical, and expert recommendations to make positive changes one step at a time. We will look at the “whole you” and together create personalized choices you can commit to and that will work for you. I would love to work with you.
