My name is Patrick Blanchard, and I am a registered dietitian nutritionist (RDN). If I am not spending time with my wife and 8 month old daughter, you can find me outdoors and doing anything that includes physical activity. This is what first interested me in human nutrition. As I studied in this field at East Carolina University, it became evident that food is medicine and the mantra of “you are what you eat” rang true to me. I have 8 years of experience in the industry and have been studying nutrition for over 15 years.
Currently, I am employed as a renal dietitian. Previously, I worked in a local hospital as a clinical dietitian and at a county health department in the women, infants and children (WIC) program. These experiences have given me the confidence to work with all ages and disease states. My passion for nutrition has led to private practice where I can provide quality nutrition therapy and guidance to patients.
You can expect me to be truthful and matter of fact. I want to set realistic goals and not have unrealistic expectations of you. I really enjoy diving into nutrition research and that is what will drive our session forward.
"My ideal client is one that is not sure where to start and is overwhelmed by information or circumstance. I am flexible as a provider and will move at your pace. You can expect me to be clear and practical. I am open-minded, but will not be unrealistic. The goals and expectations that are set, will be smart ones. I will not be driven by results, but rather my priority is the satisfaction of care that my patients receive."
