Background

I bring a unique and valuable insight in my practice through my education, culture and background. Growing up in Australia, moving to Colorado, living in New Orleans and now residing in New York, I have learned and seen how food has the power to bring people together through shared experiences. While growing up, I saw my grandparents and parents cook meals for friends and family. I realized that food creates memories, fosters community, and enhances connections. It can help nourish our bodies and enrich our minds with shared experiences and nourishment. These moments have shaped my passion and love for food.

I obtained my Bachelor of Science in Public Health from Tulane University and Masters in Science in Nutrition Education from Columbia University where I also completed 1200+ hours of supervised experiential training. I was part of research projects such as analyzing the connection between nutrition and oral health at the Columbia Dental School and coding menu data to understand the changes in lunch menus overtime at NYC public schools. I am currently a Clinical Dietitian which has exposed me to a wide variety of disease states, treatment modalities and medical nutrition therapy practices. I also work in the media to provide evidence-based content, easy recipes and nutrition tips. Altogether, this has helped provide me with a variety of experiences, opportunities and shaped me to be the Dietitian I am today; motivated and excited to help change people’s lives for the best using an evidence-based and individualized approach with each client.

My motto is simple: healthy does not need to be hard and all foods can fit in a healthy diet. During my master’s program and dietetic internship, I learned the value of all foods in a balanced lifestyle and how foods can fuel our bodies. Everyone’s nutrition experience look different emphasizing the value of a patient centered approach, which I utilize to better understand my client’s needs and desires. Together, we can set realistic, sustainable and achieveable goals. I work with techniques such as motivational interviewing , so each client feels understood, heard and to be partner on their nutrition journey. I am open minded, empathetic and help empower each client achieve their goals.

In my spare time, you can find me testing a new recipe in my kitchen, hanging out with friends and family, running, skiing, walking my dogs or reading a new book. I’d also consider myself a big foodie and love any excuse to try a great restaurant in NYC (always open to recommendations). I am a big traveler and love exploring different cultures especially seeing the food scene all over the globe.

My mission is to help people develop, heal and grow their relationship with food. As a dietitian, I plan to work with my clients to enhance their wellbeing to discover the pivotal role of nutrition in their overall health. I am here to support and to guide you every step of the way!
