I am Registered Dietitian with a Master of Health Science degree in Community Nutrition and an Honours Bachelor of Science in Nutritional Sciences, both from the University of Toronto, Canada. I was born and raised in Toronto and living in the US for the last 20 years with my husband and teenage son.
I have over 20 years of experience working in community nutrition and public health nutrition addressing areas such as prenatal/postnatal nutrition, food security, healthy eating across the lifespan and brain health among other areas. I am beginning my private practice and hope to support and guide individuals on achieving their food and nutrition goals.
I am often asked what drew me to the world of nutrition. The first thing that always comes to find is the role of food and culture, and how important family gatherings around food were to me growing up in Toronto. I also love food and cooking new foods and dishes! I believe in the enjoyment of food, and I support the power of food in prevention and treatment of many chronic conditions and overall wellness and health longevity.
I am interested in supporting women especially older women in perimenopause/menopause and those interested in the role of food for overall health longevity and brain health. I look forward to working with you!
"As a dietitian, I take a compassionate and empowering approach to guide clients in developing and achieving nutrition- and food- related goals that they can sustain for life. A non-dieting approach along with enjoyment of food/eating, listening, creativity, evidence-based practice and practice-based evidence all inform my practice. I am to develop a trusting partnership with clients throughout their nutrition journey."
