Background

With a medical nutrition therapy background, I provide education and counseling to achieve health and nutrition-related goals. My education and counseling experience began as an undergraduate student where I provided 1:1 nutrition visits and cooking classes to students. It was then that I discovered my career path as a clinical dietitian who would provide medical nutrition therapy services to help people achieve their nutrition-related goals.

My experience includes a 1200 hour medical nutrition therapy emphasis dietetic internship and 6 years working as a clinical dietitian. During my dietetic internship, I especially had an interest in the research topics presented by myself and my peers. I also appreciated the care and effort that went into the nutrition education and counseling provided in an outpatient setting for diabetes. My professional journey has progressed from skilled nursing facility to the outpatient setting, where I have combined my passion for nutrition with the skills & expertise to support individuals as a Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist.

As for myself, I aim to continue with practicing what I preach through healthy eating, physical activity and healthy stress management. I follow a mostly Mediterranean diet and enjoy staying active with yoga and walking. I have a curious optimism on the topic of personalized nutrition due to my educational background and professional experience. I appreciate discussion, trial and error, and finding what diet and lifestyle works best for the individual and their goals.

Approach

Whether working with one nutrition problem or multiple, simple or complex, I aim to help people achieve their vision through current research and trends, nutrition science, education & counseling and goal-setting. Some interventions are trial & error, while others become positively life changing. I aim to consider progress over perfection and maintain mindfulness of grace in my practice. Health isn't something to be fixed, but rather uniquely tended to as our human experience.
