Hi and welcome to Cancer Care Nutrition! Samantha (Sam) is a Registered Dietitian, Board Certified Specialist in Oncology (CSO) and Denver native. She obtained her Master's degree at Illinois State University, but ultimately found her way back to Colorado for the mountains.

Sam's mission is to empower individuals who are currently undergoing cancer treatment to advocate for their nutritional well being in their oncology and primary care offices. Sam focuses on side effect management as these symptoms often lend to difficulties with maintaining ones nutrition. For individuals who are on the other side of cancer treatment, Sam offers education on lifestyle and diet modifications that are clinically proven to reduce the risk of cancer recurrence.

In our first session, if you are in active cancer treatment, we will review the following possible side effects you may be experiencing to ensure you are in the best place for us to work on nutrition repletion or maintenance. If You are on Active Chemotherapy or Radiation: Nausea, Vomiting, Painful or Difficulty Swallowing, Taste Changes, Dry Mouth, Mouth Sores, Fatigue, Diarrhea, Constipation, Weight Loss & Early Satiety, Cancer Cachexia, Artificial Nutrition, Enteral Nutrition - Feeding Tubes, Parenteral Nutrition - TPN, Micronutrient Deficiencies (Calcium, Magnesium, Phosphorus, Iron, B-12). If You are in Survivorship Following Treatment Completion: Reducing Cancer Recurrence, Breast Cancer Survivorship Guidelines, Prostate Cancer Survivorship Guidelines, Multiple Myeloma Survivorship Guidelines, Reversing Pre-Diabetes, Prevention of Nutritional Deficiencies, Weight Gain, Weight Maintenance, Weight Loss.

In her spare time, Sam enjoys spending time outdoors with her boyfriend, family, friends and her dog Scooby. She also enjoys cooking and exploring all of the beauty Colorado has to offer. She looks forward to being a part of your care team and supporting you through your cancer journey!
