Background

Hello! My name is Karin Smith. I’m a Registered Dietitian/Nutritionist and a Certified Lactation Specialist. I am also a mom and passionate about helping you find joy in eating while meeting your nutrient needs. I am a plant-based eater and I believe eating more plants is the way to health, but I won’t force them down your throat. My hobbies include gardening, hiking, and spending time with my family and friends. 

I worked as a dietitian for 3 years serving pregnant and postpartum moms, infants, and children who join the WIC program. I love to serve families and help them navigate food choices that will lead to life-long health. 

If you are struggling with breastfeeding, please discuss with me.  I can also help you navigate the world of formulas and narrow down which ones to discuss with your doctor. 

If you are planning for introducing foods to your infant and you are struggling to sort through all the information out there, please book an appointment with me. 

If you are struggling to make meals for picky eaters, I can help you come up with a plan.  

During my dietetic internship I spent time working with Full Plate Living, a weight-loss program focusing on plant foods. If you are vegan or vegetarian, or want to become one, I can assist you in creating a balanced meal plan for your health goal. Please tell me it is your goal to eat more plant-based so that we can focus our visit on that. 

One of my favorite volunteer activities is leading health programs in my church. I love the one about beating diabetes. It is fun to see people discover and take healthy steps to manage and even lower their A1C. 

As someone who has lived abroad, I try to bring cultural sensitivity into my work. Just tell me what you like to eat so I can get to know your unique food culture. 

I won’t talk about faith unless you bring it up, but I am here if you do. Please feel free to share anything with me that has to deal with your journey with food. 

I believe eating good is one of the keys to feeling good. It made a difference in my life and I want to share that with you too.
