My background includes over twenty years of experience working as a Registered Dietitian in public health, clinical and telehealth settings. I received a Master of Science in Nutritional Science from the University of Michigan and my license as a Registered Dietitian in 1999. As a former competitive gymnast of fourteen years, nutrition has peaked my interest. While working in the WIC clinic, I provided nutrition education for families to optimize pregnancy outcomes, post-partum weight loss, as well as ensuring their infants and children are eating and growing properly. I have worked with adults of all ages with chronic conditions, such as food allergies/sensitivities, diabetes, renal disease and hypertension. In long term care facilities, I have counseled patients with swallowing difficulties requiring altered textured diets and tube feedings. Other areas of expertise have included weight loss, weight gain or just simply eating a healthier balanced diet.
"I like to build a rapport with clients, providing empathy and understanding to create a safe and supportive setting, where they feel comfortable sharing their concerns and goals. I want clients to feel they are in a free judgement zone. I request from clients to share their strengths and weaknesses, and try to meet them where they are most comfortable for making their desired changes."
