About
Nutrition has been my compass for two decades, guiding me from hospital wards to community health programs and private practice here in Portland, Oregon. As a Registered Dietitian with an MPH in Public Health Nutrition from Loma Linda University and licensed as an LD and LDN, I blend clinical training with practical, compassionate care. I also hold a CPT, which helps me integrate movement into nutrition plans. I enjoy working with patients from birth through seniors, including those with autism spectrum disorder, selective eating, eating disorders, thyroid conditions, celiac disease, autoimmune disorders, allergies, and intolerances. Outside the clinic you'll often find me doing step aerobics, strength training, reading, or spending time with my husband and son.
Care philosophy
Food and health are pieces of the whole person, not a number on a scale. Grounded in current research and my public health training, I practice through a Health At Every Size, weight-neutral lens while offering clear, practical steps we'll try together. I'm warm and empathetic, and I also aim to be direct and action-oriented, turning evidence into bite-sized goals and accountability you can sustain. We focus on root causes, behaviors, sleep, movement, and emotional context so changes hold up over time. Education is part of every visit, so you'll leave understanding why suggestions matter and how to adapt them to your life.
What to expect in your first session
Come prepared to be heard, not judged. In our first visit we'll review your medical history, look over lab work and biometrics when available, and talk through what has been most frustrating and what has helped. Together we'll establish a couple of short-term, realistic goals and identify small steps you can try before we meet again. I welcome patients of all ages and often work with families and caregivers when appropriate. You don't need to have everything figured out, just honesty and a willingness to explore sustainable solutions together.
Every person is unique. I love getting to know my clients and helping them discover for themselves what they really want to do to improve their nutrition and health. I look at the whole person, not just the food and nutrition aspect, because I believe our environment, our emotions, our mental health, our social health, our cultural uniqueness, and more, contribute to our overall health.
