Hi! I’m Stephanie Stanfield, RD, RN, E-RYT200. I am a registered dietitian (25+ years), registered nurse (12+ years) and registered yoga instructor (6+ years) with a focus on preventing and managing dis-ease in the body. My intention is to practice daily gratitude and ways to be good to my mind, body and soul. I realize the challenges of living in a chaotic, fast-paced, technology and food-driven world. Regardless of what season of life you are in, if you desire to pursue health, I would be honored to meet you there.
When we meet, my approach is a relaxed comfortable vibe. I want to learn more about you, specifically what brings you joy, your support system, goals, current health, behaviors and challenges. I want you to be comfortable and your authentic self. My focus is listening to your needs, clarification for understanding, and engaged in what matters most to you related to your health and nutrition. I am direct yet gentle with occasional humor while mindful of our time. I have resources available that address mind, body and soul. Depending on the individual, we may briefly engage in some breathing exercises in the beginning of our meeting to calm the nervous system.
As your guide, I will offer areas of education based on your interests and your goals (short-term and long-term goals). This means you are in control of this journey, and I am alongside you for support, encouragement and content application. Each session beyond the initial meeting we will review your ‘why’, SMART goals, efforts (success and challenges), work on challenges and further education.
I started college at 17 years of age . . . I will say I am grateful that I was divinely led to the field nutrition. While in school to become a dietitian, I worked as a local radio DJ. A few years later, I finished graduate school in the field of exercise physiology. Ultimately, I discovered a personal desire to serve others. This led me to become a nurse.
I have worked in the field of diabetes (including GDM) for over twenty years, focusing on medical nutrition therapy and managing CSII (insulin pump therapy) and CGM (continuous glucose monitoring) therapy. I have experience in bariatrics, cardiovascular, psych/behavioral health, and women’s health. Later in life, I found yoga and finally felt peace. I became a yoga instructor to better assist veterans and psychiatric clients. Yoga has had a profound impact on my life and how I live. My current professional goals include pursuing functional nutrition and natural medicine.
Please know you are an important unique soul meant to live a healthy life. I encourage you to include vitamin G (gratitude) in your daily life. Find a dietitian that you can resonate with to help you meet your goals. If my introduction speaks to your heart and you would like to start your health journey, it would be my pleasure to assist you. Paths cross for a reason. Until we meet . . .
Be well,
Stephanie Stanfield, MEd, RD, RN, E-RYT200, LDN
