Hello, my name is Sherri. I’m a registered dietitian with over 20 years of experience. I became a dietitian because I’ve always been fascinated by the impact food has — not just on our bodies, but on our emotions.
Food can harm us or heal us. It can comfort us, or it can bring up feelings of shame. The power food holds can feel immense. While eating, meal planning, and making food decisions can sometimes feel overwhelming, they can also hold a special place in our hearts.
Recipes and meals tell stories. When passed down through generations, they create memories and food cultures, which in turn shape unique traditions. If not shared, those rituals may be lost forever.
But when we begin to see food as a gift — not the enemy — it can bring joyful sustenance.
My approach blends food culture with medical nutrition therapy — using food as medicine to help you feel your best. While I’m trained to support a wide range of medical conditions, my focus and passion lie in helping people diagnosed with irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS), and all types of diabetes.
I’m a Monash University-trained provider in the use of the low FODMAP diet — a highly effective treatment for gastrointestinal conditions like IBS. I’ve helped many patients reduce or resolve their symptoms and significantly improve their quality of life.
For those with PCOS, I create customized nutrition programs that target the root cause of their condition.
I’ve also been a Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist (CDCES) for over 14 years, supporting thousands of adults and children with type 1, type 2, prediabetes, and gestational diabetes. My experience has led me to serve on a diabetes committee for a large HMO and develop a pediatric clinic training manual for dietitians.
I specialize in all aspects of diabetes self-care. Whether you’re new to meal planning or ready for advanced nutrition strategies, I help patients identify problematic food and blood sugar patterns and assess diabetes medication and insulin regimens—including personalized diet recommendations for those on GLP-1s like Ozempic. Together, we’ll work toward your health goals by making small, impactful changes.
When we talk, I’ll take the time to understand you and your goals, then help you create a plan you can put into action right away. Your plan will be as unique as you are! If you’re ready to start your journey and put YOU first, I’d love to help.
A little about me. I am a native Californian, with my ancestral roots dating back to the 1800’s. I love gardening, hiking, tennis, swimming, traveling, painting, photography, and cycling classes. I have chickens, dogs, cats, and an African Grey parrot who loves to talk, squawk, and listen to music. In addition to nutrition tips, I often share my art and photography on Instagram.
I hope to work with you soon.
