I am committed to making the experience of my students and clients the best it can be! As an educator and clinical dietitian, it is important to me that those who I work with fully understand their condition(s) and my food and nutrition recommendations, which will be evidenced-based. My clients can expect that I will: 1) assess all relevant factors related to their nutrition, 2) consider and relate the most effective interventions that will help them improve their health, and 3) find answers to their questions and address their concerns in a friendly, non-judgmental, and timely manner.
My areas of practice include Disordered Eating and Eating Disorders; Weight Management; Low Energy Availability; Pediatrics Gastroenterology, Neurology, and Complex Conditions; Ketogenic Metabolic Therapies; Metabolic Syndrome; and PCOS.
I have a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Psychology, a Doctoral (PhD) degree in Physiology, and dietetics education and supervised practice from Texas A&M University, University of Tennessee, and Viterbo University, respectively. I have been an educator in life sciences (biology, food, and nutrition) for over 30 years and a clinical dietitian for over 18 years.
I have collective devotion with my spouse and two adult children, who are the anchors in my life. Cooking, running and walking, painting, singing, and spoiling my dogs also bring me joy and fulfillment.
Food, nutrition, and basic life sciences have always fascinated me. I have been a perpetual student of these topics for many, many years. I hope I can bring my passion for them to my students and clients in a way that is understandable and helps them set and achieve their goals.
"Once I learn about you, we will work together to find answers to your questions, address your concerns, and achieve your food and nutrition related goals."
