My Journey started with leaving my career and enrolling in an accredited university to learn nutrition. I was the vegetarian nutrition dietetic practice group state representative, dietetic student of the year, published several articles with the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, and have 750 volunteer hours with NCAA athletes. Not only do I have a B.S. in Dietetics and M.S. in Human Nutrition and Food Systems, but I also earned a B.A. in Sociology with an emphasis on Social Psychology. I have maintained my state license and continuing education without interruption. My experience includes working with behavioral health, geriatric nutrition, diabetes, hypertension, heart disease, weight loss, kidney disease, sports nutrition, meal planning, meal preparation, vegetarian diets, tube feeding, food allergies, GERD, PKU, and textured diets.
I believe in the power of food, because I lived it. When I changed my diet, I lost weight, a skin condition of 5 years cleared up, GERD disappeared, and seasonal allergies that ruined my summers now only happen a few days a year. I can't promise the same results for you, but together, we can create a plan to make a healthier you.
"I take a holistic, whole-body approach to nutrition. Nutrition science is key, however, I consider lifestyle, sleep, behavior, social settings, stress, physical activity and mental health in my assessments. I believe in "What gets measured, get's managed," but also respect the intuitive nature of each person's dietary tastes. My goal is for my clients to have peace with the food that best nourishes the body."
