Hello! I’m Barbara Meister, MS, RDN, LD, a Clinical Registered Dietitian Nutritionist and college professor with a passion for helping people feel better, live better, and build healthy habits that truly last. I grew up in North Dakota as the youngest of 11 children, and my strong Midwestern family values—hard work, humility, kindness, and integrity—shape the way I show up for every client. Being part of a big family taught me resilience, empathy, and the importance of supporting one another, all of which influence my approach to care.
I’ve worked across inpatient and outpatient settings—including Trauma One—where I developed strong clinical judgment, calm under pressure, and deep compassion for every person I serve. My background includes nutrition support, weight management, diabetes, digestive health, kidney disease, bariatrics, pediatrics, autoimmune conditions, and women’s health. I take a functional and integrative approach, blending evidence-based medical nutrition therapy with holistic tools that support the whole person—mind, body, and lifestyle. As an educator, I teach chemistry, biology, and human nutrition, and I bring that same clarity and enthusiasm to my client sessions.
My clients can expect a supportive, non-judgmental environment grounded in intuitive eating, motivational interviewing, and behavior-change coaching. Together, we’ll explore your goals, your relationship with food, and the habits that fit your unique life. I genuinely believe nutrition should feel empowering—not restrictive—and I aim to make every plan practical, personalized, and sustainable.
Outside of work, I love creating recipes, designing cookbooks, staying active, and finding joy in healthy living. I’m creative, energetic, and deeply committed to helping people thrive. I’m here to meet you where you are and walk with you every step of the way on your wellness journey.
Clinical RDN and professor specializing in nutrition support, weight management, diabetes, GI health, kidney disease, bariatrics, pediatrics, and women’s health.
