Hey there! My name is Ryan. I’m Catholic, a husband, a father of three, and a graduate of the University of Georgia (UGA). When I’m not praying, flirting with my wife, playing with my kids, or calling the Dawgs, I work with clients and patients in my role as a Registered Dietitian (RD). I’ve been in the field of nutrition for more than a decade and have helped innumerable people improve their lives through the food they eat.
I started in dietetics through my pursuit of professional athleticism. I was going to be a professional wrestler with World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE). My cross country coach in high school had introduced me to the importance of nutrition for sport. When I changed to focusing on wrestling at the start of my time at UGA, I wanted to know all I could about the nutrition and exercises I needed to pack on as much muscle mass as possible and stay lean to perform feats of strength and endurance. After reading a bunch of books from the library and informing a friend of my pursuit, they mentioned I could have a career as an RD. I started taking classes in nutrition and became a personal trainer at the Ramsey Center at UGA to increase my knowledge of exercise and help others achieve their fitness goals. I trained, exercised, and ate my way from 142 pounds to 215 pounds and three WWE tryouts. Ultimately, wrestling didn’t work out for me but thankfully I got encouraging words from Chris Kanyon along the way, “stay in school and find something you love that can help others.”
I left Georgia and followed my girlfriend (now wife) to Indiana and started my career in Clinical Nutrition. I’ve worked in a large academic health center, the United States' largest community cancer network, and a large regional hospital. While those experiences seeing and treating patients in hospitals have their rewards, the greatest joy for me comes in providing the support and accountability to people in their journeys outside of the hospital setting.
I’ve been training people in-person and on-line ever since I became a personal trainer. I starting nutrition coaching after I graduated from UGA. I started providing Medical Nutrition Therapy after becoming an RD.
All of this led me here to you. I’ve had to improve my own health through adjusting my own nutrition. I’ve seen and supported clients just like you through some of the toughest times in their lives and guided them to better health through the food they consumed. I truly believe that “better health” is achieved through your relationship with food. We truly are what we consume.
We’ll work together to build the nutrition plan to meet your goals and create the life you want. You’re unique and what works best for you is different than everyone else. If you’re ready to live your best life and enjoy all the food along the way, I encourage you to sign-up today while there’s still time.
