I have been a Registered RD for over 20 years. I went to Oregon Health Science University for my internship where I was involved in critical care, ICU, pediatrics and many other disciplines. I moved back home to California where I have spent most of my career in Long Term Care working as a Quality and Compliance RD. I oversaw two skilled nursing facilities, Assisted living and Memory care. I have worked in kitchens and have done many kitchen inspections to make sure that all regulations and policies and procedures were being followed. I've been the lead RD in a diabetes trial to prove the efficacy and safety of a new drug. I currently teach at the local junior college for the Dietary Managers program I help to create.
I was laid off in Sept of 2023 and took a look at myself and my love for dietetics and chose to start my MS in herbal medicine. I have always had a passion for holistic approaches to healing. I love to garden, cook and learn about herbs that help with the treatment of a disease rather than relying on prescription medications that just put a 'bandage' on the problem. I look forward to working with clients that have the same mindset.
"My goal is to motivate and listen to the clients needs. Often times clinician's tell clients what to do, not listen to their personal issues or struggles. My love for dietetics is to harbor a positive relationship with food and making it simple to make change. My goal is the goal we set together. I'm here to provide science based knowledge and to help navigate obstacles my client faces."
