I grew up on Long Island which is located in New York, where my personal journey with weight and health began. As a teenager, I struggled with unhealthy eating habits that eventually led to morbid obesity. I tried countless fad diets and medications-each offering only temporary results. That frustrating cycle of short-term success and long-term setbacks became the driving force behind my passion for nutrition.
