My name is Kayla Scherf. I have been a registered dietitian since 2008. I achieved my bachelor's degree in nutrition and dietetics from Kent State University and my master's degree in nutrition and dietetics from Bowling Green State University. I have also achieved my master's in integrated healthcare management from Western Governors University. I am currently enrolled at Rutgers University and working on my Doctorate in Clinical Nutrition. I have worked in many areas of nutrition as well as in ten different states. My passion is working with individuals who have kidney disease and those who need nutrition support. My new path is taking me down the road to working in sports nutrition, and I am beginning to work towards gaining more experience in this area.
"As a dietitian, I take a unique approach to how I provide medical nutrition therapy to my clients and patients. I take an evidence-based approach and adapt it to fit individual lifestyles, which include cultural and religious beliefs. Developing a healthy relationship with food is one of the primary goals when working with me."
