When I was a teenager , I decided that being a registered dietitian would be my dream job as an adult. I had started cooking at age 8, volunteered at a hospital at age 16, and became fascinated by the science of nutrition. I knew that I wanted to work with people. Today I now have over 35 years experience as a dietitian and would not choose any other career, and my favorite part of being a dietitian is doing nutrition counseling and guiding people on the journey of reaching their health goals.
I was born and raised in California and got my Dietetics degree at U.C. Davis , but to stay current in my field, I went back to school 13 years ago and got my Master’s degree at Kansas State University. I am always striving to learn more about nutrition, and I have been certified in Obesity and Weight Management in the past and am certified as an infant feeding technician. A little bit about me personally- my pride and joy is my dog Basil, who was a 3 time Swim Champion on his dog sports diving team. He is now retired from swimming, but we still compete doing Nose Work- doing searches for certain odors. My other main hobbies are cooking and singing.
"I have worked with all age groups of patients and speak Spanish. I have a compassionate approach to nutrition counseling, and instead of a strict diet, clients can expect to take away an individualized meal plan and easy to achieve goals from their sessions with me. YOU are in the driver’s seat, and I am here to teach and guide you."
