Amy’s interest in nutrition began in a middle school science class when learning about food labels and ingredients. She was able to turn her passion into a career by becoming a Registered Dietitian. In addition to having a bachelors and masters degree in nutrition, Amy also has a doctorate degree in education. She formerly taught nutrition at the college level and currently blends her areas of expertise to focus on outpatient nutrition education. As a mother of two teenagers, she understands the challenges of raising children in a busy world while instilling health and nutrition values.
Amy believes that everyone can reach their goals by taking steps towards a sustainable lifestyle change. As a compassionate listener, she takes time to determine individualized strategies that are most appropriate for a broad range of conditions. With the philosophy that there is no task too complicated, Amy can prioritize nutrition conditions to create reasonable plans of action.
Born in Nashville, Tennessee, Amy moved to Louisiana as a young girl and eventually married her high school sweetheart. Amy enjoys reading, writing, going on walks, and traveling in between watching her son at archery competitions and cheering on her daughter at volleyball. It is a family effort to help with the 6 chickens, 3 pigs, and 2 dogs!
Amy would consider it an honor and privilege to work with you to help you live a healthy life.
