Background

Yvoney is a dedicated nutrition professional who embarked on a career in response to the prevalent misconceptions about food among friends and family. Her passion was ignited during a conversation with her grandmother, who believed that consuming chicken could potentially stimulate cancer cell growth. This encounter fueled Yvoney’s interest in nutrition, prompting her journey to become a Registered Dietitian.

As her career unfolded, Yvoney’s perspective on health and nutrition underwent a profound transformation. While working closely with individuals struggling with eating disorders, she witnessed the significant impact of our relationship with food on overall health. This realization led to her mission of assisting individuals in cultivating a healthy connection with food, their bodies, and ultimately, their physical well-being.

Committed to her mission, Yvoney immersed herself in research, and engaged in extensive training in both inpatient and outpatient treatment of eating disorders. Embracing philosophies such as Health at Every Size (HAES) and intuitive eating principles, she endeavors to empower individuals to develop a harmonious relationship with food. Her approach focuses on encouraging autonomy and trusting in the body's innate needs. Furthermore, Yvoney is dedicated to educating and guiding individuals towards a compassionate and balanced approach to nutrition, free from harmful dieting practices. She assists her clients in making informed choices and building sustainable habits that contribute to their overall well-being.

Yvoney graduated with her Bachelor of Science in Food and Nutrition Science from Seattle Pacific University, and then completed her dietetic internship at the Oregon Health and Science University. She is currently working on her Intuitive Eating Counselor Certification. When she is not working, Yvoney likes baking and exploring new coffee shops. She also enjoys hiking at PNW!
