Background

Hello! My name is William Carter, and I am here to support everyone on their health journey! I’ve earned my BS from Cal State Northridge and my MS from Marywood University. During my under graduate studies, I had long thoughts of where does nutrition fall as a practice; this lead me to pursue a minor in psychology. This blend of background helps me bring my clinical RD knowledge to clients in a functional, practical practice where we can work together to build understandings and find successful ways to create new practices, together.

It’s important for me to take a whole person approach to nutrition. We’re so much more than what we eat. Respecting culture is just as important as our medical information. So is understanding where you’re at, what goals you have, support systems, and time you have to meet your goals. By putting everything together, we can build for success in both the short and long term.

My approach to nutrition is to use it as a vehicle for you to take action. Sometimes medical diagnoses can make people feel like nothing is in their control. By understanding what the body needs, we can work together to find the essential micro and macro nutrient plan that will empower you to take action for yourself!

I’m excited to help people of all ages and need. I’ve supported my mother in law through dysphagia and dementia, taught nutrition to neurodiverse high school students, and counseling for all the ages in between! Everyone that I’ve worked with knows that I’m there to support and cheer them along as they reach their goals!

I’m happy to join you on the ‘health is wealth’ movement. Our culture is ready to move away from things making us ill and embrace natural well being- the perfect fit for a nutritionist!
