It all started with a little toy kitchen set, a curious young girl and a red plaid cooking book for kids. This is how my love for all things food began to blossom. Growing up in the south, as you may know, the dietary trends can often include decadent and savory food options, which are often unhealthy. During my adolescence years, I began to realize, many of my family and friends were developing nutrition related chronic diseases. These co morbidities are often attributed to their unhealthy dietary habits and cooking methods . Often, medications and supplements were prescribed but the same patterns were rarely managed.
This fostered my decision to pursue a career in food and nutrition . I received a Bachelor of Science degree in Family and Consumer Sciences from Georgia Southern University and a Masters of Education from Central Michigan University. I received a certification in adult obesity and weight management from the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR).
My goal is to provide coaching and feedback to help individuals reach their health and nutrition goals.
