Welcome! I have over 25 years of experience working as a registered dietitian and a researcher at top level universities. After becoming a dietitian, I earned a master’s degree in Human Nutrition and a PhD in Nutritional Biology. My research focused on diabetes prevention and overweight behaviors, and I like to think that both topics describe my approach to working with clients. Dietetics is about treating diseases for sure, but it is also about preventing disease. In fact, frequently the diet changes people make to treat one disease prevents other diseases. And how do people make changes; they do it through behaviors. That is where I come in. We work together to identify diet changes you want or need to make and then I help you make those behaviors changes a reality. I meet you where you are to get you where you want to go.
I work with most nutrition diagnoses, but my special areas of interest are cardiovascular or heart disease, cholesterol, triglycerides, hypertension or blood pressure, insulin resistance, diabetes, weight loss with or without medications, metabolic syndrome, women’s health including helping women through perimenopause, and older adult nutrition.
In my free time I like to spend time with my family, play brain games, go on moderate hikes, and watch cooking shows.
"I have over 25 years of experience working as a registered dietitian and a researcher at top level universities. I use the latest nutrition research and recommendations when helping people with their diets. A science-based approach is the most trustworthy path in a world fraught with misinformation. I am also client centered - I meet you where you are to get you where you want to go. I do not support one diet plan for everyone. You are unique and what you eat should be unique too."
