Background

Hello! My name is Tara, and I am a registered dietitian with 20 years of experience dedicated to helping clients achieve their nutritional goals and improve their overall health. I believe wholeheartedly in the adage that "food is medicine," and I am passionate about guiding my clients on their journey to better health through personalized nutrition plans and compassionate support.

I graduated from the University of Wisconsin with a degree in Nutritional Sciences—Go Badgers! I then completed my dietetic internship at Central Michigan University, which provided me with a strong foundation in clinical nutrition and a diverse set of skills to support a wide range of client needs.

For the first 10 years of my career, I practiced clinically in hospital settings, where I developed a deep understanding of nutrition support and infant nutrition. My experiences in the clinical setting have equipped me with the knowledge and expertise to address various nutritional concerns and conditions.

Areas of Expertise

My knowledge and experience span a variety of topics, including but not limited to:

Weight Loss and General Nutrition: Creating sustainable, personalized plans to help clients achieve their weight loss goals and maintain a healthy lifestyle.

Post-Bariatric Nutrition: Providing specialized guidance and support for individuals who have undergone bariatric surgery to ensure they meet their unique nutritional needs.

Diabetes and PCOS: Helping clients manage their blood sugar levels and symptoms through diet and lifestyle modifications.

Menopause and Perimenopause: Offering nutritional strategies to support women through the hormonal changes associated with menopause and perimenopause.

Nutrition Support: Utilizing my clinical background to provide nutrition support for clients with complex medical needs.

Pediatrics: Working with children and their families to promote healthy eating habits and address specific dietary concerns.

Low FODMAP Diet and Other GI Conditions: Assisting clients with digestive issues, such as IBS, by developing customized low FODMAP diet plans and other interventions.

Food Allergies and Intolerances: Creating safe and nutritious meal plans for clients with food allergies or intolerances.

Get to Know Me

Outside of my professional life, I enjoy spending time with my husband and our two daughters. We love staying active and often engage in family activities like running and outdoor adventures. One of my favorite hobbies is woodworking and DIY projects with my husband, where we get to exercise our creativity and teamwork. I also enjoy crafts, which allow me to unwind and explore my artistic side.

My Drive

I am driven by a genuine desire to make a positive impact on the lives of my clients. I believe that everyone has the potential to achieve their health goals, and I am here to provide the knowledge, tools, and support needed to make that happen. My approach is client-centered and empathetic, focusing on building a strong, trusting relationship with each person I work with. Together, we will navigate the path to improved health and well-being.

I look forward to meeting you and helping you achieve your nutritional goals. Whether you're looking to manage a specific health condition or simply improve your overall diet, I am here to support you every step of the way.
