Background

Hello !  This is Susan and I am a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist with years of experience in various health care settings.  For the past decade, my focus has been on tele-health nutrition coaching and therapy.  I find that there are real advantages in providing nutrition and lifestyle support to people in their own home or daily environment vs. requiring visits to an office.   It facilitates privacy and often a more relaxed atmosphere, while also allowing for more frequent check-ins: a great combination for making personalized food and lifestyle changes.

While I will use an evidence-based approach to nutrition information and motivation, it will always acknowledge the many powerful emotional, social, environmental and economic factors that can make it so challenging for an individual to make and/or sustain better habits. Often, changes in sleep patterns and physical activity levels can be part of this.  Listening carefully to you and encouraging you to set realistic goals is often a good starting point.

I am a Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist and Lifestyle Coach for the National Diabetes Prevention Program. My Master of Science Degree in Nutrition & Food Science Framingham State U. as well as a Bachelors in Nutrition and Dietetics from University of New Hampshire. As dietitians, our licensing requires qualified continuing education and I love the opportunity to keep up with research and improving my skills.

Some of my favorite activities include daily walks on road, trail or beach…(usually with my dog),  golf, reading, gardening and visiting (and laughing!) with friends and family.
