I am a Registered Dietitian with a Bachelor's degree in Health Science and a Master's degree in Nutrition. Clients can expect guidance, support, empowerment, and peace of mind from sessions with me because of my extensive experience in the nutrition field. I like to focus on lifestyle and whole person changes that will help my clients reach their goals. There is much more that comes into play when talking nutrition because our entire life and environment can dictate the choices we make around health. I struggled with obesity and anorexia during my life and I feel that it gives me a lot of insight for future clients because I have been there firsthand. I know that healthy habits are instilled in childhood but it is never too late. I had a passion for helping obese children and my first internship was at a childhood obesity clinic where I later worked for five years. I was healing my inner child around food and exercise during this time as well, learning that food is medicine and movement is a reward. That being said I enjoy being active and moving my body. My current healthy hobby obsession is salsa dancing.
"My personal philosophy to nutrition counseling is much more than diet advice. It is crucial to be open minded, empathetic, and flexible! Things are not always as simple as they seem and it is important to listen to the clients and give realistic nutrition advice that will be long-term. I have a non-diet approach because not only does dieting not work it is not sustainable. I want my clients to build healthy habits that will last them a life time and increase their quality of life."
