Background

As a neurodivergent friend (hello ADHD!), I feel especially passionate about helping you work with your "neurospicy" brain instead of against it! Identifying key components of your current relationship with food helps us meet you where you are at. Everyone is different, so having a better understanding of where you are is much more important than where I think we should start.

My counseling style is nurturing, compassionate and fun. Yes fun -- eating doesn't have to feel like following rules and regulations! Let's rediscover the joys of food so it can be enjoyable and a time you take for yourself and enjoy time with others.

My passion for nutrition began during my undergraduate studies in Culinary Nutrition at Johnson & Wales University, where I learned about the essential role of food in overall health & well-being. During My time in graduate school at The University of North Carolina Chapel Hill, I discovered non-diet and weight inclusive frameworks that transformed how interacted with my own relationship with food, movement, and body.

After I was diagnosed with ADHD in 2022, and then was also working with more and more neurodivergent folks, I realized the way we interact with food differs so much from our neurotypical friends. From the hunger cues we experience to the foods that feel safe and consistent, there was just such a different lens that needed to explored in sessions!

Struggling with eating consistently though out the day because of executive dysfunction? Feeling really anxious about making "the right" food choice at each meal and snack? I am your gal! Let's get a session on the calendar to dive into all of it.

Approach

"Nutrition (and health) is so individual to who you are as an unique human. Let's work together to figure out what is best for YOU! Together we can implement more structure around food to minimize decision-making throughout the day. By creating a individualized and manageable routine we can reduce stress and increase consistency of meals/snacks. This will help you gain confidence in your ability to nourish yourself effectively and create a more balanced and supportive eating pattern. "
