Background

I obtained my Bachelor’s of Science in Nutrition & Dietetics from Samford University in Birmingham, AL. I then completed my Dietetic Internship at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston. Immediately after becoming an RD, I began working in a management role in long-term care/rehab facilities doing clinical assessments, making recommendations, and overseeing the foodservice departments. Out of a desire for more in-depth conversations about the science and opportunity to make more lasting change, I started a private practice on the side. After 2 1/2 years of my full-time position in nursing homes and having success and greater fulfillment in my part-time private practice, I decided to take the leap to quit my main job and counsel more.

Through nutrition education and counseling, it is my hope to clarify confusion, increase knowledge and understanding, confront unfounded beliefs, promote self-efficacy, and effect long-term change for my clients. I take time to listen and answer questions and concerns, unlike the quick predictable care given in much of the healthcare sector. I long to see my clients thrive in former areas of struggle and to discern fact from fad. I use cognitive restructuring to help clients re-frame unhelpful or extreme thoughts about food and their bodies to help them establish healthier mindsets and lifestyles for the long haul. I provide practical guidance on how to plan and prepare meals and to meet nutritional needs tailored to each client’s specific phase of life and health struggles. I’m here to make you better.

Outside of work, my interests include regenerative farming, recipe development, family gatherings, outdoor activities, working out, serving my local church, and supporting Christian ministries.
