I am a registered dietitian with 10+ years experience working with individuals who struggle with food insecurity and mental health. I was born and raised in Brooklyn NY, in a very traditional Chinese household where my parents earned minimum wage to support a family that included my grandparents. I understand the struggles of eating healthy while on a budget, having poor access to healthy foods, and having a hard time navigating the food aisles. Inflation (as well as shrinkflation) affects us all and life is hard enough as it is. Let me help you figure out what gluten-free means and whether or not a low FODMAP diet might help with your GI symptoms. I bring patience and humor to our counseling sessions. I believe in setting short-term goals, long-term goals, and having realistic expectations.
"Food is such an important part of our lives. We think about it every day, often several times a day. It can give us energy or it can make us crash. It can be a great source of joy or it can cause extreme anxiety. It has the power to heal or harm. It is a form of self-care and how we communicate with loved ones. My role as a dietitian is to help you in your journey to better understand the power of good nutrition and how small changes can make a big difference."
