Hello! I’m so happy you stopped by, I’m excited to meet you and to get to know you! I am a registered dietitian with over 20 years of nutrition counseling and coaching experience. I also have over 20 years of individual and specialized fitness training experience. My fitness training experience will come in handy if you are also looking for a well-balanced diet to complement your fitness routine or if you are preparing for a fitness event, competitive or not! My education background consists of Bachelor’s Degrees in Sociology and Psychology, graduate certificate in Nutrition and Dietetics, and a Master of Science in Human Nutrition.
My nutrition background and experience has mostly been in clinical settings, whether in an acute hospital or skilled nursing facility. Additionally, since I have been a personal trainer for over 20 years, I also have experience working with those who want to work on their preventative care habits to maintain a healthy lifestyle and diet. I am committed to helping and supporting my clients whether they need care for a diagnosed chronic condition or have concerns about acute and/or emerging nutrition related conditions that need immediate attention. So, I can be there with you every step of the way.
My main areas of expertise are chronic illnesses, conditions that people live with for many years that they need to manage and/or control with diet, exercise, and/or medication. Most often, I have worked with clients/patients with Diabetes, including prediabetes and those on oral medication and/or insulin, High Blood Pressure/Hypertension, High Cholesterol, and various stages of chronic kidney disease, including individuals on dialysis. I have experience working with clients/patients who have multiple cardiovascular diseases, including those who have undergone different types of cardiovascular surgeries.
I have also worked with people with specific food-related conditions, such as Celiac disease, food allergies/intolerances, GERD, IBD, Crohn’s Disease, Colitis and malnutrition. In addition, I have worked with many clients for weight loss and/or achieving and maintaining optimal body composition distribution with healthy food choices and diet plans. I also understand the mental and emotional concerns that some of these conditions can have on someone trying to manage eating and being healthy.
And lastly, a little bit more about me- In my personal time, I like to spend it with my dog, Zoe, and just relaxing at home and watching cooking shows. For leisurely activities, I enjoy outdoor activities like hiking, walking, kayaking, etc., and for fitness activities, I like working out, either at a gym or at home with weights and resistance bands. I also enjoy community class activities like yoga, spin, and full body workouts. I love to explore new foods, different cuisines, and living in the Bay Area gives me opportunities for both!
