Background

Welcome! I am so glad you have found this page. I’m Mikayla, a registered dietitian ready to guide you and help you build sustainable nutrition and lifestyle habits.

My journey to this profession: I grew up living an active lifestyle from competitive dancing to becoming a track and field and cross country athlete. Through those years, I struggled with body image and nutrition. I am passionate about helping others build a strong relationship with food and body image as I understand the complexities revolving around the two. I graduated from SUNY Plattsburgh with a degree in nutrition and continued to pursue my passion at University of Connecticut where I graduated with a Master’s in Health Promotion Sciences and completed a dietetic internship. I currently hold a full-time position in an acute-care hospital in NY as an inpatient and outpatient dietitian. I have extensive experience working with preop and postop bariatric surgery, weight management, diabetes, hypertension, and general medical nutrition therapy.

Outside of work you can find me running, watching sports, or enjoying time with friends and family.

What to Expect: Using an evidence-based, client-centered approach to nutrition counseling that prioritizes the unique needs, goals, and values of each client. During our appointment, we will navigate nutrition and lifestyle habits, mental health and wellbeing, address barriers and concerns, and build the steps needed to reach your goals. My goal is to have you feeling empowered and have the knowledge, tools, and confidence to build and sustain life-long habits that don’t feel like a chore.

I am looking forward to meeting with you and taking on this journey together!
