Hi, I’m Marissa — a registered dietitian dedicated to helping people heal their relationship with food, trust their bodies, and step away from diet culture for good. I recently returned from living in Europe for a year, where I experienced culture through food. Whether savoring gelato in Italy or wandering through the spice markets in Turkey, I was reminded again and again that food is so much more than fuel; it’s connection, tradition, love, and pleasure, and it’s meant to be enjoyed.
I specialize in creating a safe, judgment-free space for clients to explore their unique relationships with food and their bodies. My collaborative, client-centered approach blends evidence-based nutrition science with the principles of intuitive eating, helping people reconnect with body cues, adopt healthy habits, and embrace nourishment without guilt or shame. My goal is to guide clients from frustration and self-criticism toward confidence, self-compassion, and peace with food.
My passion for this work began with my own experiences. Growing up in a family with strict food rules and navigating multiple food allergies — including a celiac disease diagnosis at 15 — sparked my interest in nutrition. I earned my bachelor’s degree from Cal Poly and my master’s from Texas Tech. Through my studies and 7 years of experience, I realized health could be approached with compassion, flexibility, and joy — a philosophy I now share with my clients.
I work with individuals navigating chronic dieting, disordered eating patterns, and body image concerns, helping them shift the focus away from weight as the measure of worth and toward sustainable self-care for physical, emotional, and mental well-being. Outside of work, you’ll find me salsa dancing, enjoying the outdoors with my husband and two dogs, or planning my next overseas adventure. I believe a nourished body is the foundation for a fulfilling life, and I’m honored to walk alongside my clients as they rewrite their food stories and reclaim joy in the process.
"I use a collaborative, client-centered approach — working alongside each person to develop personalized strategies that help them walk away from restrictive eating, reconnect with their bodies, and embrace eating without guilt or shame. My goal is to help clients move from a place of frustration and self-criticism to one of confidence, peace, and freedom in their eating choices."
