Background

I look forward to using my 28 years of nutrition counseling experience to help you! I specialize in diabetes management, kidney disease, vegetarian nutrition, and weight management.

My interest in nutrition began after experiencing kidney disease as a child. Having to follow a low-sodium diet as a young person was challenging. This experience sparked a desire to learn about how to stay healthy and prevent chronic illness. I chose an education in food and nutrition and later became a certified diabetes specialist. This background and training allows me to collaborate with clients and families to achieve their health goals.

I like to empower people to prevent and manage chronic illness. By actively listening and providing practical and sustainable suggestions, my clients have the space to express their needs and individualize their nutrition plan by looking at the whole person. This allows me to build trusting relationships, provide support, and celebrate successes. I am passionate about my work and enjoy making all foods fit. I like to share the fun side of nutrition!

My other interests are spending time with friends and family, trying healthy recipes, doing yoga, and hiking with my dog, Miles.

Approach

"I empower clients by teaching them to be proactive with their health management. I take a “whole person” approach by discussing lifestyle in addition to food. Clients feel that their individual concerns and challenges are being considered rather than a “one style fits all” approach. Your needs are always at the center of my care. Goals are set from the information we uncover together. This contributes to an improved sense of ownership and empowerment to make healthy choices."
