I’m Makenna, MS, RD, LD, a Registered Dietitian with a passion for helping people transform their health through nutrition that truly fits their lives. I hold a master’s degree in Nutrition with a research focus on diet and exercise in kidney disease, and I’ve built my career across diverse settings—hospital care (from every floor to two dedicated years in the NICU), outpatient long-term rehab, and now Nevada Early Intervention, where I work with children ages 0–3 with special needs and developmental delays. These experiences allow me to support clients of all ages and conditions, including pediatrics, NICU care, tube feedings, diabetes, cancer, heart disease, and weight management.
My philosophy is rooted in a holistic, integrative approach that looks beyond surface symptoms to uncover the “why” behind health challenges. I’m a straight-shooter with close attention to detail—working with me means no quick fixes, but instead a realistic, supportive partnership built for the long haul. I believe food has the power to heal, influence outcomes, and change how we feel every single day. My sessions combine education, practical tools, and collaboration so we can design a plan that not only improves your health, but also fits seamlessly into your lifestyle.
Outside of work, I live in Reno with my husband and our two dogs, Rip and Rex. I love paddleboarding, biking, Pilates, lifting weights, and spending time in nature—especially around Lake Tahoe. I’m also a big foodie, and my husband and I have made it our mission to try nearly every restaurant in Reno!
My ultimate goal is to help you create a way of eating that is sustainable, flexible, and empowering—where you feel your best while still enjoying those fun, memorable moments without guilt or worry. If you’re ready for lasting change and a plan that truly works for you, I’d love to partner with you on your journey.
