Hi! I am Kati Burton, a registered dietitian nutritionist in Missoula, Montana with bachelor’s and master’s degrees in dietetics and community nutrition from Virginia Tech. I moved west in 2014 for my dietetic internship at Montana State University, and fell in love with the beautiful landscape and rich history. Since becoming a dietitian, I have enjoyed a career of nutrition counseling and coaching in clinic, public health and tribal health departments; as well as subject matter expertise on nutrition assistance programs for Montana Department of Health and Human Services and the U.S. Department of Agriculture Food and Nutrition Service.
Maintaining a private nutrition practice is important to me, to provide accessible, personalized nutrition guidance and coaching. Rapidly changing trends, conflicting advice, and administrative burdens can get in the way of getting your questions answered in real time. I am here to help you, especially on matters related to women’s health (perinatal, peri and post menopause), gastrointestinal disorders (with personal experience having celiac disease), weight management, chronic health conditions, and general lifestyle optimization and performance nutrition for athletes of all ages. You are unique, and your nutrition care plan from Burton Nutrition will be too.
For fun, I love to meander up tall mountains or slowing my heart rate during a Brazilian jiu jitsu roll. I also have a creative and kind five-year-old, grumpy blue heeler, and a supportive partner, who thankfully, is a genius in the kitchen.
