Food has been at the epicenter of my life since I was a child, and I have had the pleasure of working as a dietitian for two years now. I earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Dietetics from San Francisco State University and completed a dietetic internship through the same institution.
My experience includes several years of studying human metabolism and the intricacies of disease management, an education which will continue as we learn more about diet and health. I’ve spent thousands of hours working with individuals in various states of health, including diabetes, autoimmune disease, pregnancy, cancer, malnutrition, cystic fibrosis, and weight management.
Through it all, I’ve found that there truly is no one right way to approach diet. The perfect diet is the one that brings us joy, respects our cultural preferences, doesn’t break the bank, and provides adequate nutrition to meet basic needs. It is highly individual! Likewise, I believe in addressing health from a holistic perspective because health encompasses more than just the food on your plate. Together, we will consider multiple factors when creating a plan to help you reach your goals.
In addition to nutrition, I have a passion for fitness and have been working as a NASM-Certified Personal Trainer for three years. I believe that, similar to diet, there isn’t one form of exercise that is “the best,” and the one we find most enjoyable should be pursued. I love experimenting with various forms of movement whether it’s hiking, yoga, weight lifting, pole, rock climbing, dancing, or running.
When I’m not deep in research about whole grains and leafy greens, you can find me experimenting with new vegan recipes, sipping coffee at a café, chasing the sun at the beach or park, or wandering through the streets of my current home city, San Francisco.
