I’m Isaac Pohlman, a Registered Dietitian, functional practitioner, and person with type 1 diabetes. I help people solve stubborn health and blood sugar challenges by finding root causes so you can reach goals with fewer diet restrictions and habits that last.

In private practice I have helped 1,000+ clients with hypoglycemia, insulin resistance, prediabetes, and diabetes types 1, 2, and LADA stabilize blood sugar without cutting carbs or relying on meds using The Pohlman Method. Clients improve numbers, gain energy, tolerate carbs including dessert, check their blood sugar less, feel calmer around food, lose weight, curb cravings, sleep through the night, experience stable moods, and feel like themselves again. My approach starts with the person behind the condition and uses personalized nutrition and lifestyle your body responds to best. My goal is to listen, understand, and guide you with clear steps so you learn your body and build tools to take care of your health for life, not simply learn new rules.

I chose this work after my own health challenges from age 15 through college, including type 1 diabetes, chronic fatigue, low thyroid and testosterone, cystic acne, food sensitivities and allergies, depression, and anxiety. I had some great mentors in my life overcome those and would love nothing more than to help you achieve your blood sugar and health goals.

I am from Michigan’s Upper Peninsula, earned my bachelor’s at Alma College where I played soccer, and a master’s at the University of Michigan. I enjoy watching Michigan sports on the weekends, playing sports, lifting weights, and traveling with friends and family.
